Since 1952, on the site of an old foundry, a team of highly skilled
Bovano artisans have used traditional tools and techniques to create
fine glass on metal sculptures.
The process includes vitreous enamel (pulverized glass) which is
applied by hand, using a delicate sprinkling method, layer upon
layer, over solid copper. Fired by the intense heat of kilns,
enamels flow and combine, emerging from the kiln a molten ruby-red
color, then cooling to reveal both vibrant and subtle hues. This
process may be repeated several times until the desired effect is
achieved.
Our goal is to produce the finest heirloom quality enamel sculptures
